Hi,
We are planning to have the following network.
- Windows for workgroups 3.11 peer-to-peer LAn.
- Twisted pair Ethernet (10base T).
- Windows NT AS 3.1 for database
- Oracle 7 for windows NT
In addition Oracle tools like Sql*forms need to be run from these windows for workgroups nodes (computers) accessing the oracle server on windows NT. Is it possible to make this configuration work and if so, what protocol adaptor/convertos (sql*net, etc) we need to buy ? I did confirm from Oracle that they have oracle 7 for windows NT. My understanding is that in a windows for workgroups peer-to-peer lan, one node talks to another using NetBEUI protocol. What protocol does such a node uses to talk to NT server ? If we have oracle on NT server, what do wee to get ? SQL*NET TCP/IP ? I am confused. I do not have prior experince of assembling a complete system like this and don't want to screw up any thing. Any help would be grealty appreciated. SPReceived on Fri May 27 1994 - 21:30:11 CEST
