SqlNet over Netbios

Our shop is currently using Decnet Sqlnet in a Lan environment. We are looking to change the protocol in order to speed up our network. We don't need the extra baggage of a Wan prot like Decnet. Has any one used or can you use Netbios Sqlnet on a Vax. We have it for Os2 but not for that Vax. Has any one had any problems/ better results using Netbios.
