We recently purchased a RS6000 based Oracle system running as a server through SQL*Net to PC's scattered around campus using SQL*Net and Omnis 7.2 as client.

As the PC's communicate to the RS6000 through SQL*Net, what kind of security is possible? Right now, the only protection is using the Oracle passords.

Is there a way to limit access to the server via the TCPIP address? Or is there a better way?

Any help would be appreciated as we are new to Oracle and AIX.

Thanks..
