As a beta test site of Oracle card 2.0, I received a letter informing me that the product was cancelled. Actually they did try to cover up a bit via coannouncing  a new product, the Oracle Multimedia Objects.

The functionality of this product is geared toward writing applications for set-top tv boxes. Meaning that it will be a front end tool for interfacing the video server application DB they are trying to come up with. So, it is not a replacement of OC, but I think a marketing ploy to make accept the changes. It is a little pathetic if you ask me.

Availability: 1Q FY95, which we know is a Microsoft like dealine, meaning we will be happy to see the product in a year.

I like Oracle a lot usually, but this decision is costing us a lot of money and a lot of credibility for me. I can just see how the managers I have sold on OC are going to react to the news...

I understand the money matters behind the decision. I am not blind. But it sucks....

Eh Merde, cela s'appelle se faire baise, quelque
chose de bien. Enfin, c'est la vie.
