Is anyone using Oracle to do access control by row? For example: Say I have a department table and I want certain individuals to have access to only a subset of the total number of departments in the table. To do this I need some form of row level access control. There are many ways to implement this on a case by case basis, but I prefer to implement a very general solution (not limited to any particular table or tables -- not tied to any particular application). Is anyone doing this?
