32-bit clean Oracle access for Mac

Help!
I'm running an Oracle Server V 1.09 on a Mac fx. I'm trying to access the
server with Oracle for Macintosh V 1.2 from another fx over an appletalk
network. Everything is fine when I access the DB with the client fx in 24
bit mode. Cannot access DB with fx in 32-bit mode.
Could someone give me a clue as to what I have to do to make this work?
