The purpose of the following message is to clarify Oracle Corporation's position with regards to Oracle Call Interface.
There aren't, and there never were, any plans to deprecate the OCI. Oracle Call Interface will be enhanced in the future. In fact, with Oracle7 OCI performance has been enhanced by providing (default) deferred linking. Functionality has been added through several new calls. In short, Oracle Corporation will continue providing this powerful applications development tool to its customers.
