We are using Oracle v6 (running Oracle Financials) under RAID 5 and have not experienced any technical problems other than the expected hit on performance. We are using the DAC RAID controller and its hot standby feature has really saved us a lot of time. I lost four (4) disk drives in the period of two weeks and experienced NO down time. The automatic switch over and re-build feature works very well and Oracle database and applications showed no adverse reaction during the switch over. Having this capability far out weighs the cost of the performance hit I get in using RAID 5 (IMHO). Stan Taylor
