Hi,
I'm running Oracle (6.0.34 & 7.0.13) on VMS 5.5-2.
The problem I have is that I would like to install the SRV.EXE image as shared and thus allow all my SQL*NET server tasks and the various database background tasks use less memory.
The executable can be addressed in many ways as it resides in ORA_SYSTEM, ORA_RDBMS, ORA_COMMON, and its physical disk:directory location.
The image is linked shared so it should work.
I installed ORA_SYSTEM:SRV.EXE for Oracle7 and it works fine.
I tried it for Oracle V6.0.34 and it seems to get used for the client/server connections but NOT for the database background tasks.
Has anyone successfully done this for an Oracle V6.0.xx database?
