Flicking through the Oracle manual for the "Oracle 7 - New Features & Options" training course I saw this under the section dealing with exceptions on enabling constraints ( p 3-39 ) :-

ALTER TABLE foo
ENABLE
   CONSTRAINT some_constraint

   EXCEPTIONS INTO exceptions;

Am I the only one to find a <grin> in this ?

Let me elucidate ....

'foo' comes from that well known phrase 'foo bar' that is derived from the slightly less familiar saying 'F*cked Up Beyond All Recognition'.

Using a table called 'foo' ( = F*cked Up ) when dealing with exceptions !

Do you think this is a deliberate & successful attempt at getting an in-joke into the training manual or the use of an 'innocent' computer phrase ?

I know what I think :-).
