Oracle7 Server and Trusted Oracle7 have been certified as being
compliant with FIPS 127-1. The testing has been done on a number of
platforms with initial testing going back to March 1991. This
certification includes both the mandatory and optional parts of the
FIPS 127-1 tests (optional are referential integrity and semantic
checking for FIPS Flagger).
Oracle7 Version 7.1 will fully conform to at least entry level FIPS 127-2 (SQL 92). I don't know if it will fully conform to higher levels of the standard in the initial release.
Oracle has been pretty aggressive in scheduling NIST certification testing in the past and I would expect to see fairly early certification to FIPS 127-2.
Generally, when the traditional Oracle method of performing a function differs from the standard, you are given a choice as to which behaviour you wish to have (i.e. Oracle6 or FIPS 127-1).
Hope this helps.
