Beta Program Definition:


  • Product Description: SQL*VDM

        SQL*Virtual DOS Machine is a brand new product developed by Desktop to support operations of Windows and DOS applications with the OS/2 SQL*Net DLLs in OS/2 v2.x. SQL*VDM will allow the following operations:

  • DOS real mode applications running in the OS/2*DOS box to access OS/2 SQL*Net DLLs for remote communications.
  • DOS real mode applications running in the OS/2*DOS box to access the local OS/2 RDBMS.
  • Windows standard mode applications running in the OS/2*Windows box to access OS/2 SQL*Net DLLs for remote communications. (OS/2 v2.0 & 2.1)
  • Windows standard mode applications running in the OS/2*Windows box to access the local OS/2 RDMBS. (OS/2 v2.0 & 2.1)
  • Windows enhanced mode applications running in the OS/2*Windows box to access OS/2 SQL*Net DLLs for remote communications. (OS/2 v2.1 ONLY)
  • Windows enhanced mode applications running in the OS/2*Windows box to access the local OS/2 RDMBS (OS/2 v2.1 ONLY)
