Coexistence of Oracle and Informix on Sun 690?

We have dual Sun 690s running as database servers using Oracle. I have now inherited a contract for the development of an Informixbased  accounting system on one of these machines. Informix has been purchased, but not yet installed. (It will be installed when the developer is closer to delivery of the application.)

What problems can we expect to encounter with both dbmss contending for the same resources? Will we only have to worry about normal load, or will there be conflicts as each dbms wrestles for control of operating system services? Are there models for tuning a system to accommodate both dbmss? Is there any generally acknowledged method for measuring the load placed by separate dbmss on a system? Will one dbms likely "consume" the other?

Please return any examples of where this has worked or not worked. If you would like to email your experiences, I will summarize and post an overview to the network.
