FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 12, 1993, Leesburg, VA (Metro Washington, DC)
SQLWare Inc. announced the expansion of the SQLWare BBS, an on-line bulletin board system for ORACLE users, developers, consultants, and integrators. The BBS provides the most comprehensive collection of information, message bases, and software programs related to the ORACLE relational database management system (RDBMS). The BBS provides several unique features:
o Electronic mail to/from ORACLE Corporation employees and any other
e-mail addresses on Internet, CompuServe, AT&T Mail, or MCIMail.
o Hundreds of ORACLE-related files separated into categories such as:
Technical Bulletins, User Week Proceedings and Technical White
Pages, ORACLE Publication Articles, Value-Added Reseller
Applications, Preferred Systems Integrators, Independent
Consultants, Upcoming ORACLE Events, Reusable Code, and User Group
News Exchange.
o On-line access to an actual ORACLE client-server database through
a Bulletin Board gateway.
o Classified advertisements for ORACLE-based products and services.
o Off-line mail reader capability, to allow messages and files to be
captured quickly while on-line, and read off-line, to reduce long-
distance telephone charges.
o An on-line ORACLE User Biography where users can document their
particular ORACLE environment and experience gained or wanted.
o ORACLE and other technical messages bases echoed worldwide through
networks such as Internet and RelayNET. ORACLE messages typically
average 50-60 per day.
o NO RUNNING METER! With the exception of the annual subscription
fee, there are NO connect or line charges.
The SQLWare BBS provides nearly 1 gigabyte of message bases and
downloadable files. Users may participate in nearly 300 technical and some
not-so-technical conferences. The BBS provides access to several callers
simultaneously and is available 24 hours a day. Any PC with a 1200-14,400
bps modem can access the BBS at 703-771-4158, using communications parameters
of 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. Non-members may call for a FREE TOUR
without risk or obligation.
Subscriptions start at $8.00 per month ($79 annually) and may be ordered on-line using MasterCard or VISA. User Group discounts or site licenses are available upon request.
