      I think you need to be clear about what "Running Oracle" is. Given 
      enough RAM, you can load the RDBMS (Not the Tools like SQL*Forms) and
      then run Windows on top.  As you say, communication with the single
      user version of Oracle is not possible under Windows Enhanced mode
      due to conflicts with Oracle's memory manager, SQLPME.

      I have no problems loading the RDBMS and then running Windows in
      Standard mode and going against the database with Q+E, Oracle*Card
      and embedded SQL in Windows C programs.  If I had even more RAM
      I would be able to run SQL*Forms, Reportwriter etc. in a DOS
      session, but for now the Windows "runform" seems to work OK.

      Perhaps you don't have enough RAM?  Or you may not have set up Oracle
      properly.
