ORACLE V5 to V7?

    We are looking at a project which is going to migrate some  applications from PRIME systems (rather old, at least 10 years)  to new HP-UX systems. Some of the applications are in ORACLE, and  I've been told that the old systems are running V5, whereas the  new systems will be V7. I've also been told that you can't move  directly from V5 to V7, you have to move through V6 first.

    Does anyone know if that's true? Does anyone remember if  there are any "gotchas" moving V5 to V6/V7, or other pitfalls we  should look for, or have any other suggestions to make, or  sources of information which would be relevant?

    Because our NEWS comes through a dial-up link which is  sometimes erratic, I would much prefer to receive E-mail to  "lederman_at_eisner.decus.org", and I can post a summary since I'll  have to write it up anyway.
