Au contraire' The Q+E distributed with Excel (late 3.0, 4.0 and 4.0a) ALL support ORACLE access. The "full" version from Pioneer Software is much better, though.

I have a couple of major applications using Excel as a "front-end" to ORACLE databases residing on UNIX servers. We have SQL*Net for TCP (DOS version) installed on the PC and use Q+E (currently the version supplied with Excel) as the intermediary. An important key is to start up sqltcp in your winstart.bat file so it is in Windows-managed memory space.
Works like a champ.
