Oracle*Terminal & key map for Oracle

Information wanted on how to map keys for Oracle version 6. I have read up on oracle*terminal, however I have not been successful in running this routine.
It produces an error as to opening the Oracle*Terminal .r file and not being able to find the default.
By the way the file oraterm.r exists and is the mentioned default file.
Any assistance appreciated.
