Sun sql*forms 3.0 PRO*Fortran user exit

I am trying to write a PRO*Fortran user exit for sql*forms 3.0 on a Sun.  
Using a doctored version of ~oracle/forms30/lib/fortran/proforxt.mk I got 
the following error:


        Linking:
	ld: Undefined symbol
	   __assert
	Compilation failed





Besides changing the IAPXIT variable, I had to remove a reference to 
libU77.a which does not exist in SunOS 4.1.2.  Any ideas?
