Hi,

I'm attempting to create an Oracle report which produces barcodes. The report will get an ID no from the database and this needs to be encoded in Code39. I've found a javabean package which will produce barcodes at http://jbarcodebean.sourceforge.net/ .

However, I have never used java or javabeans before and I'm not making any progress. I've found a couple of tutorials on the Oracle web site. These are "Building a Report with a Barcode" and IDAutomations "Barcode Tutorial for Oracle Reports". Unfortunately the methods used in these tutorials don't exist within the jbarcodebean. I'm assuming that I need to write my own methods for the jbarcodebean and base them on the ones in the Oracle examples. But as I have no java experience this is probably beyond me.

Has anybody here used this javabean with Oracle reports? I'd be grateful for any help.

Thanks,
