I would recommend NOT to follow the suggestion to use 2 different users, or to verify the following problem, I noticed in Oracle 9i. Using a second user will change the ownership of the oraInventory, and will register the name of the installing user in the Orainventory. The consequence is you won't be able to upgrade Oracle any longer without hacking the Orainventory for every individual upgrade. This is obviously not supported.
What is your pressing business need? Or do you just like to live dangerously?
