Hi!
[Quoted] I'm a bit confused about the user of ORACLE_HOME and ORA_HOME for client installations (not instand) on windows. With older clients both seem to be required, with 10g, the installer gives a warning.

Could anyone please enlighten me as to whether one or both environment variables are still necessary?
I'd love to get rid of them both.
Also, I'd like to install the client software centrally on a mountable drive and then set up only variables and possibly registry entries on the clients. Is this possible? Has anyone tried this?
Lots of Greetings!
Volker
