No he wasn't. He posted the exact same, IDENTICAL, message to c.d.ibm-db2, to c.d.sybase, and to c.d.ms-sqlserver. If it had only been on a c.d.oracle group I'd agree with you. The fact that the exact same message (cut and paste) was in all four groups clearly states that it was intended to promote a product. That, by definition, is spam.
