Sybrand, I understand your point about product announcements and which NG is the appropriate one for it. Also OP should have googled before asking such type of question.

However, in this instance there is one distinction... i.e. I only mentioned the product/s that I had used/use and which one do I prefer. I do not work for M$, AllRoundAutomations OR Quest. I just use their products and give my opinion as to which one I prefer. OP can make up his/her mind afterwards. If I worked for one of these companies then it would be a different scenrio. I can't speak for others who have mentioned products in this thread but does not look like they work for the respective companies either.

Also... when someone says.. I prefer this brand of OS over that or that brand of hardware over this... that also borders on marketing but we ignore it in most cases because OS/Hardware is an integral part of how Oracle runs.
