oracle error 01034, 27101

[Quoted] [Quoted] i have just installed Oracle 9i Release 2 on SuSe Linux 8.2 Pro. The database created ok and i also use sqlplus to get into the database.
But when i rebooted the system and try to start Oracle database via $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart, i get the above errors:
ORA 01034: Oracle not available
ORA 27101: Shared memory realm does not exist
Linux 2 error: File does not exist.
Is there some init file which Oracle is trying to find and does not exist ?
