The original message is not a knock about the DBA, it was a problem I encountered after being upgraded to PLUS80W. Ok, so dumbfounded wasn't the best word. Our DBA is as 'confused' as I as to why SQL Plus 6i doesn't work as it did in previous versions. Previous to the upgrade, when a script was ran from SQLPlus, you had a 'Cancel' button to stop the execution. Now, when executing a script, there is no 'Cancel' button, none of the other cancel method's that I've read about (CTRL-BREAK or File/Cancel) do not work as the screen is 'frozen' and won't even refresh if something should happed to pop-up on top of the window. As far as my expectations ... I've been working with Oracle products for over 6 years, and a developer (Cobol, FoxPro, DBase, Clipper, Pascal, Basic) for over 20, and with the cost of these products, I don't feel that it is too much to expect it to work at least as good as it did in a previous version. I was looking for some 'friendly' sole that may have an idea as to why it doesn't work as it used to.

Thank for you hint on trying the one from the database installation instead of from the Oracle 6i tools.
