Hello,
I have always hated Oracle's stupid command line interface (no command-line completion, no arrow-key up/down for command history, etc.).
Fortunately, I found this tool:

It's a bit hard to install, requiring Java, a Java-to-readline component and JDBC.
- But once installed and once one has found out how to connect, it's suddenly really nice to work with Oracle(!). Command history, command completion, improved "describe" command and more.
By the way: Once it's installed, it may be used with any database to which you have a JDBC driver, including MSSQL.
As an added bonus, HenPlus is free and open source.
