schema builder problem

Hi everyone,
I try to add a default value to one table by using 'schema builder'. When I choose the wanted table and choose menu 'schema'->'define column', add the default value, then push the 'OK' button. I found the table's some column name has disappeared. At first, I think it is my screen card problem, but when I tried to submit the modification, the oracle gives me the error message 'OBE-15492: Error in altering table '.

Has anyone faced the problem before ? How to solve it? I don't want to use sql statement to solve such problem.
