This may sound like a bit of blah advice, but I personally really like to
get a hands-on approach; therefore, I think that you will probably benefit
most from getting a machine powerful enough to run 9i, and then just get
going with whatever you want ! The things I have learned that way have
always stuck in my mind permanently... If someone tells you the 'quick fix'
for sth., chances are you will have forgotten them in 2 days (if that).
As far as books go, Albert Lulushi's stuff is good, if somewhat entry level.
