How about another plot: 1) I install Designer/2000 on a fresh system into default_home (since it is the only one), then 2) install Oracle Client 8.1.7 into another directory and home (home 2). So, do I behave like I didn't know :-) ?

Could you tell me if I can safely install that Designer into the DEFAULT_HOME already containing Client 8.1.7 ? Wouldn't it substitute any communication libraries with the old ones ?
