At its core BrowseUp's oLink technology enables users to create virtual links from any existing online document, and "write web", instead of just "read web". This document that has "users links" on it, can be ANY PAGE out there!

Although these virtual links are inline links, they really reside on an external "link server" , and the original document is not changed. These virtual links can point from both pictures and text within the page, to associatively connected information like other URL`s, the users local files (which are automatically published), and to new pages written on the fly by the user.
Other users in the group can view these virtual links while they access the URL "from" where the links point. You can download a sample client and work with a link-server set up on the internet, or run a "link server" at your institution (LAN based) by downloading the Server (with a dedicated client in it- requires Oracle DB 8.1.6). You can actually make links from any point within the page you are viewing now, to any information you think is relevant....Your Word file, a "NEW-URL" which you author while making the link(and then is uploaded and becomes a new web page, or an existing web page that you have seen in the past.
