ORA CLIENT FOR WINDO2 95

Please help on a oracle client connectivity problem.

I tried to install client connectivity usind oracle win95/98/nt oracle client disk. But it says the following
"the Java Runtime Environment was not found at ..//stage/components/oracle./.... ...., please vist javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.7 or higher."

now I installed the JRE 1.2.0 on the win95. it still gave the same error upon attempted installation of the oracle client access software.
