Well, 'packaging' is not really Oracle's strong point. That may be the downisde of Oracle's wish to be vendor-neutral, etc.
You are probably better off to use one of the dedicated, platform-dependent installer tools (InstallShield is a popular one). If you are only installing on w9x/w2K/wNT, then that should be a complete solution. For other platforms, you'll have to use other installers.
