Persistant variable in Form 6i

[Quoted] Hi, I'm trying to make an alert popup once only - to warn people that the form is about to retrive a lot of records from the database and ask them to be patient. But since the records are not being refreshed all the time, the subsequent accesses are really fast, and so I wouldn't want the message to come up every single time. Is there a way to create a persistance variable - a flag essentially that will last for the execution of the form?
