Hi carsten,
As per my little knowledge, whenever a connectivity needs to be established in an NT 4 machine running Oracle Enterprise Edition (8.1.x) and Forms 6 but without a LAN card, the MS LOOPBACK adapter is used. That is how I was able to connect on my machine! You can find it in network neighbourhood-> right-click -> properties ->adapters -> Add.

The idea is that I fool NT into believing there is a network card on my machine.
Regards,
Anand
