I'm only guessing here, as I haven't played with Oracle 8i yet, but:

Dev 2000 expects TNSNAMES.ORA to be in a directory called \network\admin
Forms 6i expects TNSNAMES.ORA to be in a directory called \net8\admin

Could Oracle 8i be putting it in \net8, not \network?

This of course raises the question of which version of SQL*Net you're trying to use: 2 or 8? (8 works fine with DEV 2K: I'd be surprised if 2 worked with O8i). Received on Sun Jun 17 2001 - 15:00:37 CEST
