How to map Oracle datatypes to java datatypes ?

Hi,
I am trying to do a mapping to get from Oracle specific datatypes the
corresponding sql java datatypes.
I would like to know if I can do my own mapping, if the type map from
getObject() from Oracle, does not provide a mapping for a particular Oracle
object.
