Hai,
I received a DOS text file which has information in country specific form(some special characters). When I open the file in Windows, it looks fine. When I ftp to unix(ASCII format), the text appears different. Some of the characters are replace by '\' etc. When I tried to update a column of a row with this information, I got 'string not properly ended' error.
I have changed the character set of the database to WE8ISO8859P1 and still the same problem.
What I am looking is:
1.When doing ftp from dos to unix, which is the mode I have to set the ftp(I tried both ascii and binary).
2. Do I have to set any other parameters before ftp to unix.
3. Do I have to change any other parameters on database side ?
Thanks in Advance.
