Crystal Reports 8.0 and 99% CPU inetinfo.exe process

We’re having trouble with Crystal Reports V8.0 (web component) using
IIS 4.0, NT Service Pack 5, OAS 4.08 accessing an Oracle 8.1.6 database
(the database is on another machine). IIS 4.0 isn’t patched beyond
whatever NT SP5 would have done to it. Never needed to patch it for
anything else.
After a short period of use (after reboot – rebooting isn’t even a
viable short-term solution), the inetinfo.exe process takes over the
CPU, with 99% utilization. Anyone here seen this? Inetinfo.exe looks
like it’s either the actual process for IIS for the IIS admin process;
not sure which. In any event, no one’s being served reports after the
(permanent-until-reboot) CPU spike.
We’ve been using Crystal Reports V7.0 (web component) in the same setup without any problems. Some say the problem could be due to out-of- control code loops, but we haven’t changed any of our own code.
We’ve turned Crystal Reports V8.0 off and had no trouble with the inetinfo.exe process, so Crystal is adding something into the mix that makes IIS bomb.
Is this a known problem? Is there a service pack or hot fix I can apply to the V8.0 installation to fix this? I installed from the CD and haven’t patched it in any way.
Will tweaking the web component config parameters fix the problem, or is this a problem with the product itself? I pretty much accepted the web component defaults.
Thanks for any help, suggestions, pointers, etc.
