Hi,

Sorry for asking such a silly question .

The Oracle Instance that we are working on used to be able to accept the clob, blob datatypes without any hassles.

If you create a table with clob datatype, it should show up as clob datatype for the field when you try to describe it.

However, I can't help noticing that clob, blob datatype (Oracle8i datatype) are no longer registered as a valid datatype on the database.

What sort of sql file under rdbms/admin directory will reinstall those datatypes??
What can cause those datatype to become invalid?

It is a worrying thought that those datatypes can suddenly become invalid.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
