Hi,
Has anyone had problems with Oracle Portal 3.0 EA and Internet Explorer as far as the Popup LOVs are concerned? I get the Popup to show, but when I click on a selection in the list that *should* be returned to the calling form, I get a JavaScript error. I checked the JavaScript of the LOVs as it is generated for my LOVs when run from a form and when they are run directly from the Navigator. The code is different. Since this code is generated entirely by the API, I don't think I can change it. I even looked at the package for the API but there is a lot of what looks like machine code (I'm assuming it's compiled Java).
I tried the same forms and LOVs with Netscape and had no problems. You may be asking what the problem is then.... Well... Microsoft Internet Explorer is our corporate standard (we are a municipal government in Canada) and we don't consider migrating all of our web browsers on over 500 machines in just my department alone to Netscape.
I'm running Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 on Windows NT. I have IE completely up-to-date (as of noon yesterday).
Anyone got any ideas or having this same problem? I know the problem I'm having is due to how the JavaScript is coded, but I'm not sure what subtle changes would have to be made to make it work on IE. Is it more likely that Oracle didn't test their code with the latest IE browser?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
