[Quoted] [Quoted] greetings this will no doubt be the first of many posts.... i asked this question of the server group last week but it appears i am not worthy of a response.....
maybe i will get some responses here?!

here goes...

i am looking for some good perl/shell/.... scripts which monitor the availability of databases on solaris machines. (i am writing some myself but fear that i might miss something.)

eg send email warning if database has gone down or connectivity has been [Quoted] [Quoted] lost etc...

i have several clients who dont want top spend big bucks on products like bmc patrol etc.
[Quoted] [Quoted] does anybody have any links i could followup on...... i dont expect scripts posting here in response i just want some more ideas.
posting of urls would help as well.

thanks in advance
