Schema Manage doesn't show full view.

I am using Oracle 8i (8.1.6) and have create a view. As the select statment ties a few tables together the where clause gets messy, so I added comments (-- comment) to aid comprehension.
When I look at the view in Schema Manager, it does not show the full view. It seems to stop on the second comment. It doesn't even show the full comment. Has anyone seen such an issue? I tried reproducing the problem with another view, but to no avail.
