In addition to the passwords listed, the default password for "connect internal" in svrmgrl is "oracle". I don't know about Personal 8i but on Unix (at least Solaris), you can change this password by running ORACLE_HOME/bin/orapwd. If you type "orapwd" without any command line arguments, you get a description of what's required (filename, new password for internal, and number of DBAs). I think there's a similar program on Win98 in the bin folder. NOTE: You cannot change the password for internal in the normal way in sqlplus (alter user userid identified by password).
