hi,

as a project manager, maintainability and sustainability as the main emphasis of any project the i get involved with. if it can't meet these two criteria, with minimal FTE, then it is very hard to justify the means to the end.

i am just finishing up a data mart based on pl/sql packages using incremental snapshots and updates. this sounds like what you need to be thinking about.

think about developing a project plan, defining your needs now, six months out, and two years out, along with how much time do you want to spend maintaining a decentralized application. also, think about, who will take care of the administration of said application in your absence.

    good luck,
