Marcus what you are suggesting [change db_block_size in init.ora and bounce database] does not work and would in the past destroy your database. It appears you are on a windows NT system and on NT the Registry overrides the init.ora so if you tried this and your database is not corrupted you should check your registry entries for Oracle to see if the block size is being set there.
