Developer/2000 is one of the Oracle Developement tools. It's a RAD tools.
You can do Forms, Reports, Graph wiht it. It's possible to deploy the forms
on the intranet with the use of Forms Server (no suplemental programming
necessary). It's an Oracle tools so fully integrated with database. The
language programming is the same PL/SQL than the one use for writting
procedure/function in the database.
So learn once PL/SQL and use it every where.
Delphi is a RAD tools from Inprise (Borland in the past). You can do form with it but you need other product for reporting and graph.
Powerbuilder is a RAD tools fully object oriented from Powersoft. Same observations than Delphi.
M$ Visual Basic is another option too. And I think there is still lot of other products I don't know.
If I was in the same situation than you and that I can rewrite my applications, my personnal choice will be Developer/2000 from Oracle. I use it from 4 years and I'm more and more satisfied by the product and his new release.
1° Developer/2000 2° Delphi 3° M$ Visual Basic 4° Powerbuilder
And if you can't rewrite your application: migrate your tables to oracle and use Access97 on an odbc connection. Cheap but not fast at all.
