Look up my previous post on this. Assuming you mean by stand-alone a Windows PC of some kind. You basically need to set up TNS using SQL*NET Easy configuration. As host you specify your own pc's identification name found in the Control panel under Network. As Oracle instance you should use the Oracle SID for the local database, if not altered it's ORCL.
