I had the same problem too. When I contacted Oracle support, I was told that DBVerify does not work with files larger than 2GB.

Dear group

Using dbv (offline database verification tool) , I get a file I/O error on files larger than 2Gb. Is this a bug? If it is, what can I do to check my cold backup is valid?

FYO: Error message:
DBV-00102 file I/O error on FILE (datafile10.dbf) during verification, read operation (-2)

dbv release 8.0.5.0.0
OS: SGI IRIX 6.5 (Unix)
Oracle Version: 8.0.5.0.0

Thanks,

Sarah
