Discover services in OEM

Hi,
I am using oracle8.0.3.
Now when I try to discover a new service from OEM(oracle enterprise manager)
, it ask for name of new node. So can you give me some detail or example
for this thing. If I give any name and try to discover it gives me winsock
error. Other wise it tries infinitely. So please give me some detail for
this.
